Weekend/Monday Workout

This weekend was alright, but I ended up skipping my dvds and just did the running/elliptical. I like having options! : )

Today ... I have no idea. Probably some kind of arms workout and abs. We'll see, lol.

How did everyone else do? What is on the agenda?

I am not losing as much as I'd like to, but I can really start to see a difference in slimming down and how clothes fit. So now I am ready for summer clothes and spring weather. I notice the weather is definitely contributing to how much effort I feel like making, lol.

In an attempt to bring spring closer, I alterred a dress yesterday. It started out like this:

Except the sleeves were shorter. I forgot to take a 'before' picture.

And then I transformed it into this:

Halter with an open back and now has a bra built into it. My first big sewing project ever. I have the blood to prove it! I cut my palm with scissors, stabbed myself with needles, and almost threw the sewing machine out the window, but it's now finished and I'm happy, lol. It's not the most meticulous work, but I am ready for Spring!!

  • That is such a cute litte outfit! I am very impressed with your first sewing project - good for you!!
  • Thanks! : )

The only issue is that I am really modest, so the front is lower than I am used to, lol. And the back is definitely more open than I'm used to. I've come out of my shell a lot since I've been losing weight, but this will definitely be stepping out of my comfort zone, lol. I like it though, so I'm going to make sure I wear it. I already have another sewing project in the works. I bought a pattern and I'm going to try to make a dress completely on my own. I'd love to get to the point where I can just make my own clothes, but we'll take this one step at a time, lol.

I just remembered now that I had a dream that I was running really far. It's so depressing to realize that didn't really happen, lol. Need more treadmill time, I guess, and not just lounging on it, lol.

  • cute dress!  the last time I tried to sew something (a skirt with pleats, zipper, pockets) I sewed through my index finger on the sewing machine.  it's been 2 years and I haven't been back to the sewing machine... I'm scarred for life, haha!

yesterday I did 30DS.  today I'll probably do the Biggest Loser DVD and a 15 min pilates DVD.  I got H Bob Harper's kettlebell and DVD for Valentine's, so I'll be able to incorporate that in later this week... just have to wait for him to open it.  ;)  and my normal 2 mile walk today.

Ouch! That sounds like it would really hurt. I don't blame you, lol.

I love Bob Harper. That's all I have to say, lol. I wish he was my trainer. Haha, I like how you buy your H the kettlebell, but fully intend to use it, lol. Maybe I should start thinking like you! : )

Soooo tired today, I'm clinging to my coffee.  Saturday we decided to continue working on the house.  Took out more drywall and wooden rafters and studs.  Then did two trip to the city dump to unload the debris.  Sunday Dainsh Man and I went to to stand up paddling at Laguna Beach.  The water was a little chilly and kind of choppy which made for a really good work out.  My quads, core, shoulders and arms are feeling it today.  I think that I might make that my Saturday work outs instead of doing P90x Kenpo.  Though this weekend I had lots of sushi and some indian food, so any progress I made may have been all for nothing.

Tonight is back, biceps, triceps and abs.  Bleh.....

Ely, that's a cute outfit, totally love it.  I'm all for anything I can wear with leggings.
  • Coco: I need to figure out what FI has been wanting, that I also want, so I can pull this off, lol. His birthday is coming up.

Lyn: Yeah, that sounds like it'd be a full body workout. I often substituted for the cardio in P90x when I did it. Sometimes you just have to do something different or the dvds get too repetitive. I hope you wake up soon! Enjoy your coffee! : ) And thanks! I love leggings too!

  • I ended up doing Back&Biceps on my lunch. After all those curls, I can barely type, lol. I want to have arms like Tiger though, so that's my motivation!

Anyone know of any benefits of going backwards on the elliptical?

I've been doing Fab Ab February.  I had 5 hours of dance rehearsal Saturday and almost 4 on Sunday.

    Anniversary

  • Good grief, that's a lot of dancing, danser! lol

Lauren: That's good to keep moving for sure. Stina always talks about keeping your metabolism going by getting up and raising your heart rate every so often rather than sitting down all day. So you're doing well! : ) I'm glad it doesn't hurt too!
