Not Engaged Yet

I know this is stupid....

But I am feeling nervous about Friday night.  You see, Friday night my family and FI's family are meeting for the first time.   I know I can't control what anyone says or does but I wish they would like each other but I am not sure that it will happen.  I just can't see it going smoothly. Make me feel better?  Lolz cats?  Cake?  Blue shoes?  *sniff*  I need to learn to relax.

aw. It's not stupid. But I think they are probably going to both try to like each other for you two anyways.

Are you the oldest or only child?

There is no use worrying over things you cannot change. I'm sure things will go swimmingly.
    I'm not good at feelings.

I'm sure it will be fine. Our parents didn't meet until the wedding reception, as my parents didn't come to the rehearsal dinner. Our parents are very different, but they seemed to get along okay, from what I heard. I actually didn't witness any interaction between them.

Man, at least you can get your parents together. My mom pretty much refuses to do anything with Tyler's parents and Daddy's hesitant because he feels like it should be both parents meeting both parents, not one parent meeting both parents. It's really awkward and I feel like his parents think that they're being judged or something since I've tried so many times to get my parents to do things with them and they keep refusing. Tyler's parents are wonderful and I want both sides to get to know each other, but it's just not working out and that's sad to me.

Thanks for all your kind words guys. I'll make sure to read this post before Friday night again to steel myself :)  You guys are the best *hugs*

And Stillwell, if it was up to me they would never met.  We have been dating for over 2 1/2 years and we live 5 mins apart and they have only meet my dad like once.  I am sorry that you mom doesn't want to meet them.  I hope she changes her mind.
