Wanted to Share How I asked my BMs (PIP)

So I figured I wanted to step up the asking of my wedding party, one of my BMs when she was getting married asked me to be her BM with a message in a bottle with a pendant that had the initial "L" on it.  So I had to think long and hard what I wanted to do.  At first I was going to make a photo collage of pictures of me and the BM from different events that we were at.  Then one day when I was at Michaels I saw a sale on these paper boxes and the idea formed in my head.  The boxes looked like little suitcases or travel pieces with stamps and destinations on them.  Since my wedding is in Maui I thought why not!

I bought three of of them.  Two smaller ones and the one you're going to see below is for my MOH.  Inside I places a hand written letter that I wrote each of them, a fabric flower that I made on my first try form a DIY tutorial.  Its crude but hey I wanted to give them an example of the wedding colors (Turquoise, Tangerine and Yellow).  I also put Hawaiian inspired earrings and a hair flower clip.  Each of the earrings were picked for BMs personal taste.  I wish I got a picture of the Hula Hello kitty ones I got for one of my BMs.  The ones below are pineapples.  I also placed a bottle of soda that is locally brewed in Hawaii.  All in all I think I did a good job.  I loved the expressions on their faces when they opened the boxes. 

Poor Maus had to be subjected to my flights of fancy and sport the fabric flower.  She was not amused.

Yours was so much harder to wrap.  You should have seen the look on the FedEx guy's face when I brought him a box that was 6 feet tall by 3 feet deep and 4 feet wide.  Try explaining how you want to ship this male strip-o-gram to the south.  :)  Just you wait.  One day that doorbell will ring and then once you sign for the package your responsible for it.

Oh I LOOOOVE how you did that!!!  So creative and thoughtful!! 

I've been thinking how to ask my girls but hadn't come up with anything quite this spectacular yet!!  Now you have me thinking . . . we aren't asking them until we get back from Tahoe so maybe I'll put together a collection of Tahoe things and pack them up pretty like you did.  Thank you for inspiring me!

P.S.  I heart Maus.

I was kind of shy, at first I told them to open them when they got home, but then I wanted them to see the earrings, so i told them to read my letter when I leave or once they got home.  I had lunch and visits with each individually. 

Thanks ladies, I'm always see these fun craft ideas when I'm at the store but I never get a chance to do something with them.  Maus is a a super pup letting me put hats, flowers, capes and costumes on her.  I think she knows the more she lets me indulge the more treats she gets.

Her: "Yeah!"
