Family rock

Here is a question for all you smart ladies. My mother has a beautiful ring that belonged to my great grandmother. I would love if my BF and I could use this ring we are broke and I love the ring too. However... My mother doesn't like my BF at all. In fact she tries very hard to drive a wedge between us whenever possible. Is it worth asking? If so, how should we go about it? Is it something you can ask for at all without it being offered?

You should not ask for it. If your mother is in possession of the ring, then she will offer it to you if she wants you to have it.

[QUOTE]This may seem like a very odd question to ask, but oh well. If anyone has words of wisdom it'll be you all. I'm planning a destination wedding, partially as a way to save money. As we, my fianc and I, will be paying for almost everything ourselves, I'm playing around with money saving ideas that I have found. One is a brunch rather than dinner reception. My worry is how the party will disperse. It will be an extremely small group abt 15 and as we are planning on being on an island, I'm just not sure how to handle the end of a brunch. Should we have an end time on the invites? Are we supposed to have an activity planned afterward for guests? Or is this idea just tackyespecially since everyone would have come all the way to our wedding? Help!

[QUOTE]We will most likely be at a resort haven't booked one yet. Probably not all inclusive. From what people here and elsewhere have been saying I think it'll work out well. Still if anyone has thoughts or ideas please post. I can use all the help I can get!

I thought you needed a ring on your finger to have a fianc and it seems that you do NOT have a ring.

Absolutely not, especially if she does not like your BF.

Perhaps, but it does make me wonder.

    OP:
You are way out of line if you ask your mother for her ring. Okay, you're not able to afford a ring, and you look down on your co-workers for not being able to afford a ring.... but considering themselves engaged? But if you get your mom to give you her ring then you're more "official" than your co-workers? You confuse me.

Also fiancé not fianc... if you want to just type fiance or FI.

Sorry, no dice. You can't ask for stuff like that.

JW, why does she hate your BF so much? Even if it weren't incredibly rude, I think asking her to give him a ring to propose to you would just fuel the fire.
And if the stormy weather came...I'd just kiss you in the rain... Daisypath Anniversary tickers image
