Venue (Poll)

I think we are leaning towards having a destination wedding in the Colorado mountains next summer. We think that 50-75 people would come. As of right now we have two leading options.

Silverthorne Pavilion

or renting a house and having the ceremony and the reception outside

I say the Sliverthrone Pavilion because I liked the river side site for the ceremony and because you have to rent that other house for at least 5 days.

How would the house rental work?

My only concern with the pavilion is how little it comes with for that price. Both options are very pretty, but the only thing you'd really be getting for the pavilion is the furniture and the space for the evening. Everything else you'll need to provide yourself (besides liquor) which would be the same situation with the house rental.

I am looking into some other house options also, but all of them are at least a 3 night minimum.

I'm having a hard time finding any places with anything included at a decent price. I'd be open to some other options if anyone has any.

I really love both of them. I don't think you can pick wrong so I guess I would go with whichever is less expensive.

I think I'd go with Silverthorne since it's the cheaper option then. Unless you were able to turn the house rental into a vacation somehow (and kill 2 birds with 1 stone)?

Beth, are you going to come crash my wedding? Wink Do you have any other places that you have been to or would suggest?

With a house, I figured several of the guests would stay there with us. We wanted it to be more of a vacation and have all of our family get to know each other better.

From where I live now, it is an 18 hr drive and from where the rest of my family lives it is 8hrs so I'm sure everyone coming would spend at least the weekend if not longer.

Nik - what is your budget? There are TONS of places out here for weddings, but I don't know what you feel is affordable for your group. I found a wonderful vineyard out here that I would love for a wedding, but I will have too many people when that day comes for me! www.azuracellars.com">www.azuracellars.com

I'm leaving work soon, but if you PM me i'll respond with some ideas in your price range.

Nik - you should go to the discussion board for your city/area, there are probably tons of venue ideas on there.
