I am a dork.

So recently, even though I know it's an impossibility, I have realized I'm kinda terrified of zombies. Or technically, being eaten alive and the feeling of absolute hopelessness that comes with a zombie apocalypse.

So last night, for some reason Verizon's service in my area was out, and I jokingly said that it was because of zombies, while looking out the window. Well, that was dumb, because  as I looked out the window I started imagining that the empty street was suddenly full of the walking dead.

So in effect, I managed to freak myself out and wound up huddled against FI's chest all night saying he couldn't let me go.

Like I said, I'm a dork.

So tell me your dorky fears and such so I feel less silly :P

We had a whole thread about zombie apocalypse survival plans a while back.  Let me go see if I can find it.

I remember that thread. I like to make myself feel better by reading this, too:

hahaha. Where is ahiswell when we need her??

I am afraid of things behind the shower curtain. Whenever I wake up in the middle of the night, I always have to look behind the shower curtain before I can go to the bathroom. What if a dead body or a scary thing is back there?!? Just playin' it safe! haha

My recent useless fear isn't really that useless, since I believe it's real. Other people (including most of you, I'm sure) would probably think it was really silly though. I have phases of being freaked out by it or it not bothering me at all, and lately it has been scaring me again.

And BF is working an overnight tonight, so I am all alone. All night. In the dark.

I do this, too! I have glass shower doors in my house, but at my friend's old place, the shower curtain would always be closed around the tub. I had to look inside before I could use the bathroom.

It's not really a random fear, but I made H come sit with me one night last week. I was upset because Mery from E's kitty passed away and it made me miss Tabitha, too. It was like midnight on a weeknight, and I was just sobbing.

I do this too! So recently I got a shower curtain that is all different kinds of see through squares so I don't have to wonder. I tell people it's so I get more light in the shower though, lol. I never imagine a murderer or something realistic though; for me, it's always a little gremlin or goblin or some kind of creepy creature waiting to jump out, or in, to get me, lol.

Also, doors in our apartment have to be all the way open, or all the way closed. Halfway gives me the creeps.

And ... since I watched Freddy Kruger in 5th grade, I still can't help but think about him if I close my eyes in the shower (it took me up till about 2 years ago to be able to close my eyes even).

Ever since I watched those Chuckie (the evil, murdering doll) movies in elementary school I get the heebie-jeebies when I'm sitting on my bed with my feet on the floor. In the movies, Chuckie is under some guy's bed and slices his achilles tendon or something.

Also- don't feel helpless if there were to ever be a zombie apocalypse. You could be like Bill, Zoe, Louis, Francis, Rochelle, Ellis, Nick, or Coach and be immune ;-)

Ah I am sorry!  I am afraid when I shower at home alone.  I hear noises and I think some one is coming to kill me in the shower and maybe rape me.  Freaks me out.  I hate it.  Can't wait til I live with FI so I don't have to worry! lol

The timing of this thread is uncanny. FI is watching The Walking Dead right now. I can't focus on my school reading because I keep getting sucked in, even though I don'treally want to watch it (I don't like zombie movies/shows). But I'm also kind of too freaked out to go into another room to study. I'm such a wus.

    That article is hilarious.

I've been convinced since I can remember that someone was going to break into my house and kidnap/rape/murder me. Like, when I was very little I used to be absolutely terrified that someone was going to come in my window and grab me. I still get freaked out being home at night alone. It's ridiculous since any of those things are much more likely to happen to me when I'm not at home.
