...but I'm still proud of it! This was my first foray into the land of pumpkin shading, and I'd say it came out fairly well. It's a Hylian shield from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (

Drawing the image on the pumpkin. I don't have a printer right now, so I freehanded that beeyotch. Not bad for not having drawn anything in two years.

In light.

With a candle. It actually glows better IRL, but my camera sucks. I learned a few lessons on thinning the darn thing out before I carve it, though, that's for sure.
I'm not sure what tools more experienced pumpkin carvers use to do the shading thing, but I used a surgical scalpel. Probably not terribly efficient, yet oddly satisfying.
Also, we didn't get even a single trick-or-treater this year. It makes me sad since it seems there are fewer and fewer each year

And I bought a HUGE bag of candy this year! How many kids came to your houses?
EDIT: Our other pumpkins (behind our fence hence the random lines):

The one on the left is Domo-kun, and the one on the right is that super smiley face you see on the interwebs (
