F/U Condo sale

Guess y'all will be happy this thing is being sold quickly - you can quit hearing about it. :) Home inspection was Saturday - nothing major. Question for people who have bought/sold recently:

The buyer wants to buy some of my furniture, in a separate arrangement from the home contract, of course. I was planning to sell some items anyway, since we're combining houses, but... is this odd? I guess it's convenient for me and it's a single guy, so I guess he doesn't want to decorate.

No, I don't really find it odd at all...  I would definitly go for it - it will be less you have to move anyways!

Glad to hear that the inspection went well!

It's just funny that the guy wants some of the weirdo-stuff he wants me to pay for after the inspection, but he wants to buy my furniture in a separate deal. (Ex: pitched a fit over a missing screw in a door knob, then "how about a deal on your dining set?")

Bf and I are having a conversation tonight about furniture - what we want here (I have a few family pieces and antiques that definitely come) and things we don't care about either way.

I would sell away (as long as the compensation is on par.)  Less for you to deal with when you move out.

    How exciting!

not an experienced buyer/seller (does HGTV count??)  but i'd say it's good he wants to buy & didnt try to get it all in a 'package deal'. give 'im the stuff, grab the cash. unless he wants something which you value sentimentally.

glad to hear everything is continuing to progress relatively smoothly!

I'm glad everything is going smoothly! I'd say sell what you aren't going to keep as long as the offer is reasonable.

Yay! I'm glad the inspection went well! We didn't buy any furniture when we bought our house but the people selling were combining households and offered a few pieces to us. They told us we could keep it or they would put it out to the curb. We accepted their offer on a few things and they chucked the rest. It was nice. I think selling is great as long as you are planning on getting rid of it anyway!

Yes, I have been insanely lucky on this one! I guess you're right - the more I sell, the less I have to move, except for the few items I love.
