It was one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life but definitely the BEST thing I've ever done for myself.

Congrats, I hear it is incredibly difficult to give up and not go back!  I work in the tobacco industry, but have never been a smoker.

Congratulations rdr!!! I know how difficult it is. I'm still working on hitting the 1 year mark, and it's still hard at times.

    Thanks so much everyone!!!

Ollie -- that's great!! Keep at it, it's so worth it! Once I got a few months in I would remind myself how hard it would be to start all over again if I gave in & had one. The thought kept me away from them!

That's fantastic! My dad quit cold turkey 23 years ago when my mom got pregnant with me, so I know how difficult it can be. Congratulations - I  hope you did something fun to celebrate!

Congrats RDR! That's a huge accomplishment. I've had many people in my family quit over the years, and I know it's really tough. Good for you for sticking with it!! You go girl!

Good for you! I'm just over the year and a half mark myself, so I know what a huge deal it is. You have every right to be stoked on yourself right now :P

That's awesome, rdr. You made the right choice! As a non-smoker, I have a question... .does it get easier? Or is it like alcholism, where you still get the cravings that you have to fight?

    Thanks ladies!!!!

    Lil B -- That's awesome!! Keep going!!!

Tiger -- I don't crave cigarettes at all anymore. I couldn't tell you when that happened though.  I know early on I would definitely get cravings, especially when I drank. OMG it was rough when I was drinking.  Over time though, it totally went away.
