Not Engaged Yet

Breaking news...

Not even kidding, our "local" (from LA even though we live 2 1/2 hours from there) news station just aired a commercial for a segment they're going to do tonight on . . . . ENGAGEMENT CHICKEN.

The line went something like, "You've tried threats, bribery, yada, yada . . . but we'll show you how you get him to marry you using only, a chicken."  All while showing a live chicken pecking away.

What about engagement pork?  Or engagement tofu?  Or what about there's nothing about cooking a chicken (or anything else!) that will "make" someone marry you?!?

True.  But I'm thinking I'd rather do something else with the wine than make chicken.

If I was a guy I would only respond to engagement filet mignon.

If the segment ends up being online update and post a link! I'd love to see the ridiculousness live! Some junior producer is BSC, methinks.

I can't believe how much press engagement chicken has received...it's quite ridiculous, really. I didn't even think the engagement chicken was that good....

I've been meaning to make an engagement chicken since we got engaged actually. Just as a joke. I think this was the encouragement I needed.

<div>This. Once all this T-giving stuff dies down. I'm making it. It might be five months after we got engaged, but who cares.</div>

Agreed.  I make better meals than engagement chicken on a daily basis.

I think it only works for chicks who don't cook.

Now, where's that link for slutty pasta?

I've heard about the engagement chicken, it was in a magazine (forget which one). Google it and you'll find the recipe along with hundreds of comments.

    I think it's from Cosmo.

Anyway, I don't eat chicken (unless it's soy chikken). After we got engaged, we went to Denny's. We tried to go to Denny's after the wedding, too (I was hungry), but it was closed! It's become a bit of a joke.
