Cable box in my room with on-demand.

DVR is living room.  But the roomies record on it, I usually don't even watch that TV.

I love all the Showtime Series, and watch them on-demand. (Dexter, US of Tara, Nurse Jackie.)

    Hi, I'm Elle, and I am a televisionaholic.  There's not much I won't watch.

I recently discovered The Office available to watch instantly on Netflix, and I'm now almost finished with Season 3.  I looooove it.

Do you have cable or satellite? DVR? TiVO? On demand?
Digital cable, with DVR AND OnDemand! I love, love, love DVR. I honestly don't know how I lived without one.

    What are your favorite channels?

Biography, A&E, BBC America, Food Network, Comedy Central

What are some of your favorite tv shows? Any hilarious or insightful quotes you'd like to share?

Chuck, How I Met Your Mother, Glee, Teen Mom, 16 & Pregnant, Law & Order SVU, Big Bang Theory, The Apprentice, Who Do You Think You Are, My Ghost Story, Paranormal State, Chopped, Psychic Kids, Celebrity Ghost Stories, Beyond Scared Straight......um, can you tell I'm unemployed?!

Do you watch the news on tv? Or get your news elsewhere?
I get my news from John Stewart and Stephen Colbert O.o

ETA: Do you use Hulu or Netflix or any other streaming type service? And how many hours would you estimate you spend watching tv and/or movies?

I have Netflix...and well, the TV is always on because I like the background noise, but as to how many hours I actually sit down and watch, without doing anything else like writing, job hunting, cooking, etc, I'd say probably 4 hours a day.

Do you have cable or satellite? DVR? TiVO? On demand?
We have digital cable with a DVR and on demand, though we hardly use on demand.

    What are your favorite channels?
Just because of the shows we watch, Fox, Comedy Central, E!, and Spike. FI also watches Speed.

What are some of your favorite tv shows? Any hilarious or insightful quotes you'd like to share?
Glee, Bones, House, Outsourced, and My Big Redneck Wedding are the ones currently being DVR'd. Also Rizzoli & Isles when it comes back to TNT. I also love the Daily Show, Colbert Report, Chelsea Lately, and The Soup.

Do you watch the news on tv? Or get your news elsewhere?
I used to always watch the morning local news when I lived at home. Now we don't watch the news very often, unless you count Jon Stewart.

ETA: Do you use Hulu or Netflix or any other streaming type service? And how many hours would you estimate you spend watching tv and/or movies?
We use Amazon Video on Demand because it's cheaper than Comcast on Demand. We probably watch one movie every two weeks. We probably actually watch TV about two hours a day, though it's often on more than that (just not actively being watched).

    Yes, SenoritaC! I <3 Sheldon.

Mostly we watch BBT and HIMYM on DVD b/c we're never home when they're on and we don't have DVR. We have cable, but mostly watch DVDs. Again b/c we have no DVR and work irregular hours.

I love Hulu and have it on a lot at work for background noise. My boss puts up with it as long as I try to be subtle about it and get all my work done. But if a show doesn't have current seasons on Hulu, i don't stay up to date.

I also have Netflix and stream that at work when I run out of Hulu new eps.

Favorite shows include BBT, HIMYM, supernatural, grey's, and survivor. I watch a lot of other things that I don't really love, but that's pretty ideal for multitasking.

I probably watch 2-4 hours of tv a day, depending on how busy work is, how interesting NEY is, and if my H and I are home at the same time to watch something on DVD.

    Fave quotes include:
    That's my spot.
    You have a sarcasm sign?
Gravity. Thou art a heartless bitch.

Those are all from Sheldon on BBT. Best comic character ever. Except possibly Barney Stinson.

We have cable (Cogeco) with DVR.  Cogeco's on demand is crap, Rogers was way better but I no longer live in their area. I hate how Canada is divided up by cable providers.

    What are your favorite channels?

Anything food or house related, History, Discovery, TLC, Bravo, CBC, local stuff. I would have HBO if I didn't need to get all the movie channels along with it.

What are some of your favorite tv shows? Any hilarious or insightful quotes you'd like to share?

Big Bang Theory is number one these days. Also, Greys Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Law and Order, etc.

In terms of reality tv Biggest Loser and Bachelor.

Do you watch the news on tv? Or get your news elsewhere?

Local and Canada news is on tv or internet, BF watchs American news on tv as well.

ETA: Do you use Hulu or Netflix or any other streaming type service? And how many hours would you estimate you spend watching tv and/or movies?

We have American netflix because Canadian netflix isn't as good. Sadly, we can't stream in Canada with it.

Ummm, not sure how long. Generally about an hour per day watching news and then maybe two more watching other stuff...movie, sports game, catching up on DVR.

I have cable. Thats a step in the right direction, right? We were completely without tv for about three months and we played a lot of WII. We dont have DVR, Netflix or anything like that anymore. We used to have DVR, but I didn't see the point in paying double what I am now for just cable.

The TV is on for about 2-3 hours a night, but how much of that I actually watch depends on the day. I would rather have the radio as background noise than the tv, but its the opposite for my BF. He always has some sports game on.

Forgot to add that we watch a redbox movie about once a week also.

What are your favorite channels? Hmm... i really dont' watch much tv besides the bachelor.

What are some of your favorite tv shows? Any hilarious or insightful quotes you'd like to share?  See above. The Bachelor.

Do you watch the news on tv? Or get your news elsewhere?  I dont' watch news on TV. I usually get it online. Easier that way. Or in classes.

ETA: Do you use Hulu or Netflix or any other streaming type service? And how many hours would you estimate you spend watching tv and/or movies? I have Netflix and I LOVE it. I watch probably a movie or two a week with friends and probably 3 hours of TV a week when I'm bored.

At home we have plain ole cable. FI has DVR and all of the good channels.
I watch most of my tv on the computer. Netflix and most recently xfinity. It has all of Comcast's on demand stuff and I use FI's username and whatnot from his cable account. I'd say I watch maybe two hours of tv a day, maybe?

Favorite shows- Pretty much anything on Showtime (dexter, weeds, etc) HIMYM, Grey's Anatomy, Guilana and Bill, Basically everything on ABC Wednesday nights.

FI and I don't have cable or any of the regular TV channels.  We just watch our favorite shows on Hulu and Netflix.  FI has a HDMI cable hook up from his lap top that we can plug into our TV and watch HIMYM, Hawaii Five-0, Castle, Lie to Me, Human Target and Bones and everything else we stream from Netflix via the PS3.  Though I will admit I miss the food network a LOT.

She nucking futs. Part of the fascination is the "villain" character.

How do you think the producers convince the bachelor/ette to always hang on to those people as long as possible? And say nice things about them and kiss them?

Like Brad talking about how much he loves to kiss Michelle.

Um, what? Maybe it's the danger of not knowing when she's going to flip?

We just cancelled cable, and we're really happy about it.  $50 more per month saved!

We just bought a new TV as our old one broke, and it's really nice!  We have it hooked up to the DVD player and Wii, and we have Netflix on Wii so we watch what we want.  We're also looking into getting a cable to hook the TV up to a laptop and stream from the internet so we can watch sports games or the TV shows I do watch.

Otherwise, we like curling up with our computer in bed and watching TV shows like Modern Family or Outsourced.  I'll watch Private Practice, Grays Anatomy, Lie to Me, Castle, House, NCIS, NCIS-LA, among a few others once in awhile, but BF won't watch them so I just check them out on my laptop when I have time.

Is it just me or is this season of the Bachelor the biggest train wreck yet? I can't stop watching but everything going on seems bizarre - Michelle is crazy, that other girl who I forget her name at the moment is so childish when she sees Brad with anyone else (sorry, I tried to narrow it down) and Brad is being all deep. There have been these elements in the other seasons, but it just seemes intensified this time around.

How many watch the Biggest Loser?

Do you have cable or satellite? DVR? TiVO? On demand?
Satellite with DVR. We have six, yes SIX, televisions in our house (does it make it better that one is our roommates and one is in the spare bedroom for guests?) and 2 DVRs. I know, it doesn't... my BF is clearly obsessed w/ electronics.

    What are your favorite channels?
    TLC, Bravo, HGTV

What are some of your favorite tv shows? Any hilarious or insightful quotes you'd like to share?
I love The Office, Say Yes to the Dress, Four Weddings (talk about train wrecks) and yes, The Bachelor!

Do you watch the news on tv? Or get your news elsewhere?
Nope! I get most of my news from MSNBC.com

Do you use Hulu or Netflix or any other streaming type service?
I used to use Hulu but haven't in awhile.

And how many hours would you estimate you spend watching tv and/or movies?
Hmm... we usually have the TV on from about 6pm until we fall asleep. But much of that time we're actually talking to each other or looking at something on the computer. The TV is just background noise.

The Bachelor: Michelle is nuts. If Brad can't see that from a mile away, he's nuts (or thinking with the wrong head). Of course he loves how confident she is, but clearly that will turn into possessiveness and jealousness when they're back in the real world. I think Emily is the best match for him.

And finally, it really freaking annoys me when these girls cry to him about how hard it is to see him spending time with other girls and hearing about him kissing other girls. Um, hello? You knew you were going on The Bachelor, right? Did you think when he whittled it down to 10 that he'd just send everyone home and propose to you? Nope, that's how this show works... deal with it.

We are cable and satellite free. Love it. I have so much more time for reading.

    What are your favorite channels?
    TLC, GHTV, DIsney

What are some of your favorite tv shows? Any hilarious or insightful quotes you'd like to share?
Most of the TV shows I like are no longer on TV, but I have them on DVD: Buffy, Charmed, L Word, Angel, Bones, Dexter

Do you watch the news on tv? Or get your news elsewhere?
    Via the interwebs

ETA: Do you use Hulu or Netflix or any other streaming type service? And how many hours would you estimate you spend watching tv and/or movies?
No Hulu or Netflix. We get most of the movies we watch from the library or torrents. We usually watch a movie everyday or at least every other day so I'd say roughly 8-14 a week, depending on how many movies we get a chance to watch.

We have a Netflix subscription and we use it all the time. Hulu (free version) for stuff we miss the night before. Hours really depend on what else is going on. Average an hour or two on weeknights I guess...?
