Sorry I am PW but... (Makeup related)

Tomorrow I am going to look for wedding make up.  This is my problem... I don't wear makeup ever.  I don't even own foundation.  My friend came up with an answer that I have people at the mall do it for me and then I should buy what I liked the look on me.  That sounds great but I have no idea where to go or what to avoid.  Help?  I am going with a friend but she isn't super makeup savvy either.  So any good tips?

EDIT: my colors as you all know are blue should I look for blue eyeshadow or do something else?

I would say that if there's a Sephora near you, head there. They don't have any specific brand obligation or loyalty, so they should be more likely to use the best products for your purpose. I sometimes think the employees look kinda scary with how much makeup they have on, but I believe they are required to wear a certain number of products to work. Any time I've had makeup done there and asked for it to be natural (if that's what you're looking for) it has been quite lovely. :)

As far as blue eyeshadow goes, I know some people pull it off well, but it's not my personal favourite. I prefer more subtle hints of colour, and would probably be more inclined to use a bit of blue liner or something if you wanted to include it.

I am looking for natural.  I was thinking about going there :)

I actually can pull off blue, I own some and when I do wear it it looks pretty.  I feel like I have to do light colors otherwise it looks like someone gave me a black eye because of how deep set my eyes are.  Here is a picture of my face:

You're so pretty! I can see with your colouring and features that you would be better in lighter colours. :)

Are you DIYing your makeup?  Also, will you be using this makeup later or is this a one time thing?  If you won't be using the makeup a lot, you might want to make some drugstore substitutions.   Also, what kind of look are you going for?  Are you going for natural, smoky eyes, bold lips?  You want balance in your face.

    Sop- Aw thanks :)

Goldie- Yep.  I really don't see any point in paying someone.  I plan on using it later for the rare times I do where makeup.  And if I get cool stuff I might be motivated to use it more.  I have no idea what I am going for.  I do know that I don't want bold lips; I have big lips so I want to down play them.  That shows you the extent of my makeup knowledge.... :(

Well, if you want  keep it natural, then you should buy the Naked Palette by Urban Decay.  The bronzes and browns will make the blue of your eyes pop.  Also, stick to brown eyeliner for a softer look

While you are at Sephora, check out Tarte's Amazonian Clay blushes.  I think that Blissful will probably look great on you.  It's a peachy pink.  Last, I can't rave enough about Make Up For Ever HD foundation.  Almost everyone who sees my pictures tells me how great my skin looks in the photos.

Also, check out the book Makeup Makeovers: Weddings by Robert Jones.  There are a tons of looks and it gives clear step by step directions.

I don't want to take over your thread, but I don't remember if it was mentioned before or not, do you have to pay for the people at Sephora to do these makeup trials or have to buy a certain amount of products or anything? Also, if you have a light complection, are you not supposed to go with the smoky look? It seems like most pictures the smoky look is on women with brown eyes and dark hair. I don't think I could pull of smoky, but I'm curious.

I don't know about when you get a full face of makeup, because I usually buy something anyway, but I tried out the airbrush makeup out of curiosity a few weeks ago and didn't have to pay anything.

For a full makeover, you need to buy a $50 gift card.

Good luck.  I'm excited to see what you get.  If you do end up going to Sephora, they have an amazing return policy.  So don't be scared to take some risks.
