New Year's Resolution!

I know Christmas isn't over yet, but has anyone thought about New Year's resolutions?

Do you actually stick to your resolutions? If not, how long do they usually last?

Does anyone else do the kiss to bring in the new year?

What are everyone's plans for New Year's?

Re: New Year's Resolution!

  • I know Christmas isn't over yet, but has anyone thought about New Year's resolutions? My usual resolution is to lose weight, work out more, be healthier overall. This year i'm adding save as much money as possible and try not to be so shy.

Do you actually stick to your resolutions? If not, how long do they usually last?
Mine do tend to last ... kinda ... usually off and on throughout the year, lol.

Does anyone else do the kiss to bring in the new year?
    Yes, we do.

What are everyone's plans for New Year's?
My mom is working this year so probably hanging out with my dad, brother, his GF, and FI for a chill, but fun evening.

  • Has anyone thought about New Year's resolutions?
No, I haven't yet. Though i'm likely to have one about losing weight and hitting the gym more.

Do you actually stick to your resolutions? If not, how long do they usually last?
They usually last a month or 2. I think it's hard to stick to something just because it's a resolution. You have to really be ready to change your mindset.

Does anyone else do the kiss to bring in the new year?
I hardly ever make it to midnight. In fact, I don't think I have since BF and I have been together. Maybe year 5 will be our first ever NYE kiss!

What are everyone's plans for New Year's?
My aunt and her family will be in town from TX. They are planning to take us all out to a big dinner that night. I just found out about it Monday and I'm really excited!

My dad is the same way. He usually falls asleep in the chair if he doesn't actually just go to bed, lol. He's incapable of sleeping in past 5 am though so there's that too, lol.

Are you calling me OLD elannis???

haha. I do wake up for work every day at 4:30 am...so I think that probably has something to do with my inability to stay up all hours of the night. Doesn't prevent me from getting teased by my friends though!
  • I know Christmas isn't over yet, but has anyone thought about New Year's resolutions?
Yes I have! I want to lose weight for my sister's wedding (and just in general) and save money.

Do you actually stick to your resolutions? If not, how long do they usually last?
No. I have no self control. But I have gotten better as I have gotten older.

Does anyone else do the kiss to bring in the new year?
    Yes! I love it :)

What are everyone's plans for New Year's?
I don't know yet, but it kind of depresses me. BF and I have been fairly lame the past two years that we have been together and not done much. Both years my aunt and uncle got us and my sister and FBIL gift cards to really nice restaurants, so we used them aroun 9ish and then went home for midnight. This year we might got to one of my friends houses for a party though. It bums me out that my two favorite NYE's were before BF - I want an NYE with him to be one of my favorite memories!

  • anyone thought about New Year's resolutions?  Not really, but I'm sure it will involve going to the gym more often.

Do you actually stick to your resolutions? If not, how long do they usually last?  I did last year, my resolution was to read more.  I read 0 books in 2010, and 18 in 2011 (technically more, but some of them were re-reads, so I don't count those).

Does anyone else do the kiss to bring in the new year? Of course.

What are everyone's plans for New Year's? Nothing yet, I'm sure we'll figure something out though.

  • NurseyK - H and I have seriously considered moving to Hawaii too (H was actually offered a job there, but financially, it wasn't worth it).  It's always so hard to leave, especially when you're on a red-eye back.

I guess a big one would be to get a job. That's not really a resolution though, more of a necessity.

Do you actually stick to your resolutions? If not, how long do they usually last?
I usually don't...ha! I think this year I wanted to read more...I had a whole list of books I wanted to get through. That lasted until about the end of January.

Does anyone else do the kiss to bring in the new year?
BF and I were apart for New Years last year but we'll be together this year! I love getting a New Years kiss :)

What are everyone's plans for New Year's?
Hopefully my car will be fixed and I'll be able to go see BF at his house for New Years. We're supposed to go out to dinner with his parents and then enjoy the nightlife in a city close to his town. I'm really looking forward to it!
And if the stormy weather came...I'd just kiss you in the rain... Daisypath Anniversary tickers image
  • I know Christmas isn't over yet, but has anyone thought about New Year's resolutions?
Yes, my goals, are to save as much money as possible, keep healthy and exercise 3x a week, continue to eat healthy, do some shows and just stay happy.  A big resolution is for the BF & I to map out a timeline for our future.

Do you actually stick to your resolutions? If not, how long do they usually last?
Usually yes, mine are long term goals, that sometimes are important and sometimes aren't.

Does anyone else do the kiss to bring in the new year?
    Yes always

What are everyone's plans for New Year's?
Not sure yet, I think BF may have people over at his place.
