I considered sending out condoms for the STDs...

 


Andrew can't stand when I say STDs...So mostly I just call them Save the Dates. I worked on them this weekend- 



I'm a sadist, apparently- so I made them myself and hand embossed them:

melmac- Go ahead and scan it. It works from the image too. Of course...it just takes you to a blank wedding website. Because I suck.

LilTexas- No kit. Just embossing ink, embossing glitter and a heat gun that I managed to melt. It wasn't terribly time consuming. I told my mom that I did 20 in 14 minutes- but I was trying to see how fast I could go.

It is kinda messy. Even the dog now has glitter on him still.

I'll post some pictures of the stamping if my phone will ever let go of the pics.

I used clear stamps so I could see what I was doing. (Not that you can really see with clear ink, anyways).

So apparently I'm at 5 months, 1 week and 4 days to go. I wanted the STDs to go out three weeks ago, but no one will get me addresses. So I guess I will just send out mine? Most people already know the date anyways. Now they just get a cool magnet to boot.

I think the smell of mod podge will forever remind me of my wedding. Even those little birds are just paper.

I think I really want to steal this idea, it looks really professional too! Perhaps I'll start practicing now, so when it is time to send out the STDs I'll be good at it.

If it is messy, maybe I'll set myself up in the shed and crack the windows or something. I bet you saved a bundle doing this yourself, and they probably look how you wanted them too, rather than paying for customization. Certainly going to try this out one day!

Do you have any phone numbers for people?  I would just call them to get the address.  Or harass people on the phone until they do.  I am ruthless bride.

I was around the 5-month mark when I sent mine out, too.  Send out the ones you can and then send the rest out as you get the addresses.  If a few people don't get STDs, is not a huge deal.  They're optional, after all.

No- I've contacted his family by FB and a couple of his friends, but otherwise- I have no idea how to contact them. And he's been defensive when I've been asking...and I've been asking for weeks.

The wedding will be way cheaper if we just cut the guest list to people I like.

I'm so glad you like the STDs! Once you look at them for days and days- you begin to wonder how much you love them.

OR or or, you could just send out a Facebook invite for your wedding! Then everyone can RSVP and you'll save lots of time and money on invitations.

It's super classy. I've known a few people to do this.

In the last pictures- you can see I also see that I cut out the STDs to kind of look like tags of some sort, because I'm...crazy?

Oh- and Did I mention that Andrew wanted to put- "Your presence is cordially requested" on the darn things? I told him that's not even going on our invites.
