Elopement vs big wedding

Okay hi, it's my first post. I was wondering about the views of an elopement vs having a formal affair. It's the second wedding for us both, and we seem to find that families and friends are trying to take over the whole thing, and we're just over it. Thoughts?TIA

    LOL, thanks sooo much!!! As far as gifts go, we have everything we need. We have been talking about it and agree that tiny and intimate is the way to go...and just have a HUGE Southern barbecue when we get home!!! Big party, small ceremony, and everybody's happy. And...hehe...his family owns a horse farm...I get the pony!!! Laughing
