HANDMADE DRESS FROM ABROAD

Hello all. I'm a budget and for a perfect dress as I don't want to look like little orphan annie (no nastiness there annie). I saw a dress maker on the internet on a very well know world wide site. offering a made to messure, colour, perfect material, hand finish and the train colour insert exactly right and a bonis of free p & p. 3 months delievery as it takes forever to hand embroder on the cyrstals It's from china £100 sterling approx $275 (dont quote me my maths is hopeless but is arond that price). I checked the same dress in the Uk is over a £1000! HELP advice PLEASE do I take the risk? Rhiannon

I wouldn't touch it if it were me.  There have been too many horror stories about these Chinese imported wedding dresses being poorly made, poor quality fabric.  Not worth it to me.

I wouldn't.  What sounds too good to be true, usually is.I've seen some pretty awful dresses from China.  You won't see it until you pay, and by then it's too late to change it and get your money back.  Then you're out that money and still have to buy a dress, possibly on a truncated time schedule which will cost even more.

Nooo! don't do that!. I've herd horror stories about those. Plus they're never on time, they cut the fabric in pieces sewn together in a way that if you need any alteration the local seamstresses can't do anything for you. The colors and fabrics are terrible. I've ordered not gowns but little dresses and tops and what looks pink ends up being neon pink, and everything has an "elasticity" proper of the cheapest "made in china" fabrics, that can't be hidden with anything! I found in Knoxville at the "Gilded Gown" beautiful gowns of every style, Piccione, and Alfred Angelo most of them and all wedding party etc at very inexpensive prices. They have a lady D. who alters very well fast and inexpensive. Go just to check and you'll love it.

I think you would do better in buying a second hand dress from someone in your area. Many brides resell thier gently used dresses, you can try them on and get a better deal than buying it from china.... Ju
