Father Daughter Wedding songs

I need help!!  I am trying to find the perfect song for the reception dance with my Dad.  I've looked and looked but not finding anything that fits.  I need a song that is like 'You are my hero' but not that song.  My dad is the standard I feel all other men are held to.  I don't just think this cuz he is my dad, he really is the greatest.  He is a very manly man but the best way to describe our relationship is that when he puts his arms around me anything bad in this world just melts away.  I want a song that tells him exactly that.  I found a lot of songs that seem to be from the father.  I need a song from the point of view of the daughter that says you are my absolute hero, but just not that song.  Any suggestions?

A country song would be ideal but they all seem to be in the point of view of the father.  I need one from my point of view.

  • If you check out the Music board on the left, you can probably find a lot of other threads with this topic. The Music board is where I found all of our music.
    Good luck!
  • Steven Curtis Chapman ":Cinderellla" or that song "I loved her first" not sure who it's by

  • I immediately thought of "Wind Beneath My Wings" too... I also like "I Hope You Dance" and "I Turn To You" was a good suggestion as well.

    Good luck!!
  • I was going to say "I Turn To You" or "Cinderella".  Both of those songs are awesome!

    GL!
  • We danced to "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman (great song).

I also recommend "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Gorban and "Wind Beneath My Wings"

Not so sure about the "I Hope You Dance' that song is more about somebody hoping that they will always take every opportunity in life. "Never settle for the path of least resistance", "I hope you still feel small you stand by the ocean"...not really a hero song for dad/daughter...although I DO love this song.
