When To Book Everything Else...How Soon is Too Soon?? LOL

I also posted this on my Local Board, sorry for double posting!

So I have a year and about 2 months and a couple weeks left till the big day, 4/4/2014.  I have all of the major big ticket items booked:  the venue, photographer, and DJ.  I also have my dress, I found it by chance while I was trying various styles on to get an idea of what I liked and I knew I couldn't leave the store without ordering it.  We booked those about 6 months ago and decided to take a break since we had much time left.  

Now that we are almost at the year mark, I'm just wondering when I should start looking to book everything else such as the florist and hair stylist.  I already have a makeup artist (she did my makeup for our engagement pictures) and our minister (FI's friend is a minister and he offered to marry us).  I don't think I'm forgetting anything else in terms of vendors but if I am, please feel free to mention as well LOL.

What about the cake? Have you picked out invitations yet? I probably wouldn't order those yet, but you could at least be looking. I would go ahead and meet with the florist. I used a really popular one and she was pretty booked up early.

The cake is apart of our catering package with the venue.  The invitations we actually bought from michael's.  They had the colors we were looking for and we scooped them up so that we didn't lose out.  My FI has a background in graphic design so he is going to design the invitations on the simple ones we bought.

Now you can start getting ideas and coming up with the guest list. Other than that you are way ahead of the game. You and I are at the same stage in planning and I have 7 months to go. Slow down and enjoy it

I think you are in good shape! The only other thing that I can think of is transportation, just because I feel like April is prom time so the limos might get booked up quickly. I might be wrong about that though, it's been a while since prom. lol

We have a preliminary guest list, so I'm not too worried about that, though somehow we need to make cuts LOL.  I have been looking into florists to get an ideas of pricing for what we are looking at for bouquets and centerpieces.  My MUA is actually a friend who does makeup professionally, so I def need to start looking at hair stylists.  I didn't even think about April being prom.  I'm hoping that since I'm in the beginning of April it won't be too bad.
