walking my sis down the aisle

I (female) have been asked to walk my sister down the aisle. gay wedding.  I am super excited to do so. Any tips on how to...i mean i know how to walk down the aisle, but do i kiss her on the cheek like a father would do?  Do i say anything like i give the bride away...? I know all eyes will be on her, but i want to do my best. i dont want to be awkward

I would just do whatever feels comfortable!! As long as you're not trying too hard to make it look good that it looks forced anything you do will be special! If a hug or a kids feels right in the moment you'll know and then you'll do it! You'll do great, don't worry about it!

Some ceremonies include  "who gives this woman?" or slightly the slightly more modern "who presents this woman?"  A father would respond "I do" or "her mother and I do."  If your sister is including this, you could respond with "I do" or "her family and I do."   If she's skipping this, then you probably wouldn't have a speaking part.

Ask your sister what she would like.  I think a hug and kiss on the cheek would be nice, if you are the type of sisters who hug and kiss each other on the cheek :-)

My best friend walked me down the aisle. I also had her as a BM, so she walked me down the aisle, sort of put my hand in my partner's hand and went and took her place with the wedding party. I did not want to be "given away".
