i am having a Country wedding

do i need to keep it plain or go full out, my Soon to be mother in law wants to go full out but i wanna keep it simple and im getting married in a barn i dont wanna mess it up

Well do you have a budget in mind? Who is paying for the wedding? Are you doing a white tent country wedding or a refurbished barn wedding? Twinkling lights in a field with picnic tables or elegant chic in nature theme?  The possibilities are endless! I think you need the budget/who pays/how many people invited before you can  really stick with a theme.

getting married in a barn is just like getting married in a church.  you decorate how you see fit to compliment the surroundings, and thats it. it takes as little or as much as you see fit.  

idk sorry i guess i have a hard time finding "country" to be a theme, because i grew up there, its just a barn to me.

Less is more. You can do country things like mason jars with candles and flowers. Burlap table runners. Clear lights around the barn. But country theme can turn kitschy so easily that I would start out very simple, take a step back, and see what you might want to add. Starting out going all out would worry me that it could go really wrong really fast.

well. the barn is really nice not like one you would see on a farm. and there hasnt been a budget set yet but im getting my Flowers for Free and i dont have to pay for tables and chairs they come with the barn. and sound system comes and my maide of honnor and one of my brides maid are also hair dressers. and my photo are free. but the only limit is my dress. and my father in law is cooking since the barn comes with a full kitchen. but my soon to be mother in law wants to take over and i dont know how to tell her to slow down since i do live with her to. its hard i wanna keep it simple and everything like the dim lighting and use candles and Oil lamps for the center peices.
