What magazines you should get?

I recently have finished a year prescription with Bride's Magazine. While I did get many photos of dress ideas for both me and my bridesmaids, I was generally disappointed with the content of the magazine. Each month in a season, they pretty much have the same adds with the same dresses. 

I am going to be moving in a couple months and decided to go through all the issues of Brides and take out everything I wanted so I don't have a giant stack of magazines to move. I threw the majority of the magazine out because it wasn't useful to me.

I have resently received one issue of The Knot magazine Minnesota (They are different ones for each state). This magazine is way better.  I have planned to keep the entire magazine. Why? Because it has things that are useful to me. They have Photographers, bridal shops, planners, Dj's and all sorts of things that are for your area.

I am a budget concious bride looking for a good deal on a good service. I have been to too many weddings where the DJ stunk or the photos ended up not being good. Through the Knot, I have found my DJ and my Photographer for a reasonable price. My DJ is $550 and my photographer is $650. Without the Knot, there is no doubt that I wouldn't have found them for such a reasonable price!

Also, you do realize you could get the same info from the knot boards or other online tools, right?  Those vendors pay to be in the magazine.

 i have a couple issues of Bride magazines, and honestly I didnt like them at all! most of the dresses were way too expensive designer dresses, and way too many fashion photos. I wanted magazines with real wedding photos, tips, DIY projects ect. I havent bought the knot magazine, mostly because the website is helpful enough but I have thumbed through it at a bookstore. another magazine that i liked, but went out of production was get married. lots of useful stuff, and the magazine was very affordable. the internet has been my biggest friend with wedding planning!

Yeah, with the exception of a few pictures, everything in the magazine is online, and you don't have to pay 15 bucks for it.

That said, I still bought the Martha Stewart ones, even though it's the same thing.

I have never bought any bridal magazines.  I have a free copy of theKnot magazine that I got at a bridal expo.  I thought the magazine was cool, but I'm not someone who would generally subscribe to magazines.  Between theknot website, other wedding websites, Pinterest, google, I have had no shortage of wedding ideas.
