I need any and all suggestions!

Ok, so here's the scoop:

We're on a very tight budget and most of his family is from OOT. I'm trying to accomodate everyone since they will be driving so far and I came up with this idea; We have the small ceremony with family ONLY friday evening, then go out to dinner with family on Friday night. Then, on Saturday, have an outdoorsy barbeque type party where friends, coworkers, and family can come and see us.

Snags:
The rehearsal dinner. I don't want to go out to dinner 2 nights in a row cause I feel that would be a waste of money. I'm stuck and I don't know where to go. Do I have to have a rehearsal dinner? What do you all think?

  • If you have a rehearsal, then you should have a rehearsal dinner. It all depends on whether or not you want a rehearsal.

You know, you could have your ceremony with everyone there, friends, family, co-workers, etc.... and then an outdoorsy bbq that same day. That way, everyone gets to come to your ceremony. If you do that on a Saturday, then that frees up your Friday to have a rehearsal with a rehearsal dinner afterwards.

Do you actually need a rehearsal? You and fi could meet with the officiant before the wedding to organize the ceremony details. Go over the instructions with your attendants just before the ceremony. If you can do it that way, you can skip the RD.

[QUOTE]We didn't have a rehearsal. I made a list so everyone knew who to line up with and in what order and everyone lined up in order. It was fine. People don't really need to practice walking down the aisle.

<div>Would you mind PM me your list so I can have a rough idea of how you did it cause that sounds like a really great idea. I don't feel like we need to have a rehearsal since there will only be my FI, the BM, the MOH, and myself in the wedding party. Thanks so much!</div>

<div>I like this idea.  One big party seems easier than two smaller parties.</div>
