AW: Our 1st Anniversary

So last night we went out to this incredible.  The food was excellent. My only complaint is that it was snowing so I couln't wear the new shoes DH got me.  Today we hosted an anniversary get together.  Both of our families and a few friends came by to celebrate.  Everything was great until dessert.  When we unwrapped the top tier of our wedding cake it was destroyed from Sandy.  We tried to save it in October and thought we did until today when it was a meltled mess. We tried to make the best of it and salvaged a piece and tried it.  The cake wasn't actually bad but the frosting was.  We ordered another cake for our guests but it was knocked into on the table before we got to cut it and it too was a mess. It's something to laugh about.  Here are a few pics.

Thanks ladies.  The restaurant was really great.  We had our own private booth in the corner.  The service was excellent and the food was yummy. 

Yes my husband bought me shoes for our anniversary.  I'm like a shoe whore- I own 200 pairs but I almost died when I opened the box.  They're amazing but we could have paid next month's rent with the money so I'm a little conflicted on if I should keep them our not. Practical me wants to return then but the other part of me wanted to sleep in them last night to make sure they weren't going anywhere.  He told me that I shouldn't feel guilty and they're something I'll always have. 

He really liked his camera equipment.  I'm still trying to get him a vintage comic book but his friend that works in the industry has been unable to find one that we would like.  So he'll get it when it becomes available.

Keep the shoes!  You'll never get a pair of 'first anniversary shoes' again.  So I vote to keep em.
