Nothing going on at work today so...

It seems like we hear a lot about crappy wedding experiences people have had: not enough seats for everyone, bad food, etc. Can we talk about our favorite weddings we've been to?

Mine is actually the only one I can remember. My youth leader (back when I went to church) got married and I just remember the ceremony being in this great little corner of a state park. It actually reminds me of Addie's pictures.

  • I've only been to two weddings and they were polar opposites.

My cousin had a huge, pretty wedding that was absolutely horrible to attend. There was no respect for the family -- it was all about his bridezilla wife. We had a miserable time and it ended up breaking up our family because of fights that stemmed from that day.

The best wedding I went to was my friend Lessa's small wedding. There were maybe 30 of us there. They got married in a little historic house and then had a really low-key buffet dinner reception at the Elks Lodge. We got to meet everyone, sit where we wanted to, dance a lot... it was really, really fun. I strive to party like Lessa :D.

</div><div>I only remember bits and pieces of the weddings I've been to. Sadly, I mostly remember the negative parts of them. I guess off the top of my head, a positive thing I remember is that at one of my cousin's weddings, it rained so they had to move it inside the restaurant it was at. The room had this beautiful, big brick fireplace, and it didn't feel "ruined" to me at all that they had to move inside. It was nice and cozy, and I really liked it. It was on my list of potentials when we first started planning. </div>
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I've only been to one wedding. I liked how low key and "them" it was. They were living in Wisconsin and her parents had some land. Her dad built an arch, her uncle officiated, and it was great. A bunch of butterflies randomly flew through during the ceremony which was amazing. We danced on their patio and had a bonfire once the sun went down. It was a fantastic wedding!

  • I've been to 20 plus weddings and my favorite is still my own, haha.  Seriously though, the most fun wedding I've ever been to was a friend of my dh.  It was at a camp ground and they got married outside by the lake.  The bride did everything herself and she's very talented at DIY.  The colors were amazing, the food was great and the music was pumping.  They ended the night doing kareoke to a Journey song.  It was really cute.
  • My cousin got married last Oct.  They served hot dogs for their midnight lunch.  And they were spectacular!!  Buns were warm, dogs cooked perfectly and every topping you could imagine.  They were the ideal ball park hot dog.  Now I'm craving one!!  :)
