I met my now Fiance on match.com.  I also met some creeps.  It was in no way the website's fault that I met creeps, and it's in now way their fault that one member went psycho and attacked people after they went on dates.  Suing match.com isn't going to do anything other than potentially get her money when they did nothing wrong.  I feel bad for her, but it's not the website's responsibility if a member goes nuts.  He had no prior record, nothing to make anyone think he would snap like this, and they have safety tips on their website.  Y'all's thoughts?

I agree it's ridiculous.  Dh and I met on match too.  I also met a couple weirdos before him, but I have that good old common sense.  It's not the website's fault although the situation is very unfortunate.

What a horrible story! I feel really bad for that woman but I agree that it's not the sites responsibility.

Unfortunately we live in a society where everyone else is to blame for others actions. Plus society has become "sue" happy as well!
I truly feel bad for all involved, and hope a solution comes at some point!

Actually, from what I remember, they make you click an agreement saying they aren't responsible for other people's craziness.  This case won't go very far.

I met my husband on Plenty of Fish.  I'd be super sad if these websites shut down to protect themselves.  They help a lot of nerds like us meet each other.  We're not so awesome at initiating in person :P.
