Another colors post (diff question)

Good morning!!

So I have spent the last few days worrying about my colors (pink and green) clashing with the decor of the reception venue (yellow/ blue nautical look) [see my post here: http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/wedding-boards_reception-ideas_venue-room-color]

I called my MOH freaking out last night and she suggested what if I did white and navy, with pops of pink? I am just trying to figure out how this would all work with FI's and the groomsmen attire. Fi doesn't want to wear pink and Idk about navy bouttonieres (sp, sorry).

Also, the reception place has white tablecloths with a choice of white or black napkins....

I'm bumming big time because this is the only venue we could afford and I just want to make it look nice. Any suggestions for how to incorporate colors in centerpieces, wedding party attire, flowers, etc would be GREATLY appreciated!

Re: Another colors post (diff question)

  • I know I don't really want to match the venue but I feel like throwing lime green into a room that is already very decorated is going to look bizzarre.

  • My venue is dark red brick inside and out, and I was advised by my mom to stay away from pinks and oranges.
I think she had a good point, and my colors are ivory, light gray, and yellow, which I think will go beautifully against the brick.
And I'm not sure exactly how prominent the venue colors are... my colors are VERY prominent, as I'm getting married outside near the huge brick wall, and the venue inside it red brick all the way around.
It may depend on that, too.
