A little background: I work in a new optometrist's office, and my boss is one of the cheapest people I've ever met. He also never considers how his actions will affect other people, and takes as many shortcuts as he possibly can when it comes to investing in his business.
So we've been open almost a year, and we have NO working smoke alarms. He refuses to have them installed. He also has no security system, and plenty of expensive inventory that someone could easily break in and get ahold of.
But my real concern is the smoke alarms.. it's obviously totally against code, but he somehow got away with it in the beginning. There are several other businesses in the strip mall where we're located. I feel like he's putting my safety, his patients' safety, and the other businesses at risk and I think it's a serious issue.
I'd like to report him, but since I'm the only employee he'd know that I did it.
