Videography at Castleton?

Hi ladies,

I have a pretty specific question. I am interested in hearing from other Castleton brides about whether or not they will be having videography.

My worry is that the outside garden ceremony area does not provide a ton of room for a photographer and videographer to co-exist, so to speak. I don't want the guests to be blocked by anyone and also don't want a whole bunch of people moving around during the ceremony. (I understand a good photographer or videographer wouldn't do this anway, but I'm worried the lack of space at the front, where the ceremony takes place, could cause trouble overall.)

Any thoughts on this? Am I under-estimating the space available for the ceremony?

Thanks, have a great day!

I am having both a photographer and videographer.  I am technically having a pair of videographers.  The ceremony space is fairly large.  It isn't huge, but it is pretty big.  How many people are you having at the wedding?  Mine is going to end up probably being around 140, which leaves plenty of room!  I am still going to have enough room for my dj to set up his piano to play for the ceremony as well.  Maybe you could make a visit at some point to visualize.  My videographers said they have done a few weddings at the castleton and were already familiar with the setup.  I hope this helps :)

I have 2 photographers and 2 videographers.  I want to have it in the garden area but our guest list is kind of too big IMO.  So I think we'll be moving it to the area facing the garden for this reason.

If you look at their blog I think, there's a girl named Mandy, who did it that way if you want to see how it looks.  I was just on there a few hours ago looking at it.

I am having 2 photographers and 1 videographer....however, my wedding is in March so I think it will end up being inside. (...still praying to the weather gods, though!)

I think that you'll have enough room, but like spree said, you could stop by and check it out to be sure.

Thanks for weighing in, ladies! I'm definitely going to stop by to put my worries to rest.  I think I'm just having trouble visualizing it all, but makes me feel better that others are having videographers in the space as well.

    Appreciate the notes!

I have been to weddings there that had video and photogs...I think if they are professional they would be able to make it work, I really wouldn't worry about it. Chances are they have worked in worse spaces, Castleton is nice and not that small outside.

You have to becareful, or you will end up with a video guy who does not care like this.
