Photography - Photo Amount in Package

I found a photographer that I absolutly love. Her website says for X-amount of money for a minimum of 300 retouched images.
The contract says just 300 retouched images.
Her e-mail to me stated I get anywhere from 400-600 images retouched.

I alread signed the contract because I didn't take a day or two to relook at everything because well, lets face it, I put my foot in my mouth.

My question is, is 300 retouched images a decent amount?

I feel like 300 is a lot of photos, then again it is your wedding day and I think 300 might come and go very quickly. Thena gain it is digital photography so there might be one of out five shots taken of the same thing that I like.

What do you ladies think?

Thanks!

Re: Photography - Photo Amount in Package

  • We had over 1,000 photos of our wedding.  Granted there were a lot of similar shots, but 300 really isn't a lot when you consider they will be shooting for about 8 hours.

She probably states that you will get 300 for legal reasons.  The outcome will probably be closer to 400-600, but having a low estimate ensures that she delivers what is stated in the contract.

I would ask her if you can get a copy of all of the raw images she took on your wedding day.  That way, if you feel you need more images of a certain event, you can pull them from the raw images, and edit them yourself.

  • I agree with Nilla. But in your OP it says you get 300 retouched photos. Will you be receiving other untouched photos?

300 retouched photos sounds like a low ball amount, but it still sounds like a good amount of photos to me.
  • Check your contract to see if you get the rights to your photos.  If you do you can have whichever extra ones you want printed anywhere.
