So FI and I have decided to get a dog. We have owned a few before, but much bigger breeds (goldens and such); now that we are in an apartment, we want to get a smaller dog that will be comfortable in the smaller living space.
We have narrowed it down to three dogs. Two are currently in foster care in the area, and we could meet them before deciding. The other is currently at a high-kill shelter in Arkansas. While I would like to save the at risk dog, I am worried about adopting a dog I have never met. Has anyone ever done this? It's really a battle for us, right now, between the emotional and the rational.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
