Corn Bread

I'm making corn bread for a party tonight and just put it into the oven.  I was rereading the recipe, double checking the amount of time it should be in there and stuff, and I just realized I made a tiny mistake.

Instead of 2/3 c sugar I definitely used 2 c sugar.  I thought the batter tasted a little sweet, but I'm not a fan of cornbread so I just went with it.

Debating whether or not to tell people I messed up, or just roll with it.

  • Just roll with it.  Just tell them it's a sweet corn bread recipe if they ask.

  • Apparently the recipe should have baking soda in it as well. (facepalm)

    I'm not too bothered, as the people coming over invited themselves over for tomorrow to watch the Superbowl (I was planning on watching the :Puppybowl, which is infinitely more interesting to me), but our TV bulb burnt out yesterday so when I called to let them know they said, "oh, that's okay, we'll come over for a game night tonight so everything you prepared won't go to waste."  Obviously they've forgotten I procrastinate horribly so I hadn't even gone to the grocery store yet, nevermind actually prepared anything.

    Oh family, gotta love them.
