Sorry ladies I just had to vent.
My mom and stepfather went to Mexico for my neice's wedding for 2 weeks and I live in their basement apartment. So it makes sense for me to watch the animals. Well they have the most beautiful sweet black lab Bailey but she hadn't been doing too good, vets kept saying she had a bladder infection and giving her antibiotics but she was still sick. Thi morning, I got up to let her out and she woudn't move, she would go a few steps, lay down. Finally around 8:30 she went outside for a pee. I phoned the vet, explained all the issues and he said bring her in. So I did, the did blood work (which showed nothing) but she had a fever so they were going to give her an IV and do some Xrays of her bladder. (She had lost over 30 pounds in 5 months).
Vet phones me around 1:30 and tells me, she has cancer, in all her bones, in her chest and lungs, what do I want to do? (Vet said it was terminal and cruel to keep her alive) Mom and Alex are in Mexico and I can't contact them. So I am bawling (best dog ever!) and call my sisters. They both say put her to sleep. So I phone the vet and confirm.
Call the kids from school (they only had one class left) and we all go to the vet and spend some time with her, they crieD AND CRIED. My daughter kept gettingmad at me everytime I teared up (she later told me I was supposed to be the strong one).
So long story short we lost a great dog, and our family is crushed.
