this is really happening...

I had my shower yesterday and had such a great time, then when I checked my mail today, we had already received several response cards back! I'm so excited that through all the little frustrations I've had with planning and invitation wording and all the little things that go into weddings, it looks like it's all about to pay off and we're going to have an amazing day!!

I do have a TY question though - I got a lot of gift cards, and we're moving two weeks after the wedding so we're saving them all to see what we'll need in the new house. We rent, so we don't know  exactly what space we'll be getting. Is it appropriate to write that we'll use the GC to decorate/outfit our new house instead of thanks for the card, we're going to get a new vacuum (or something else specific). I've always been told to thank the giver for a GC and then tell them what you're going to buy with it.

  • I think it's fine to write what you're thinking.
  • We told everyone that cash was going towards our landscaping, which is the plan, but I'm sure some of it went towards the honeymoon too as it all went into our savings account.  Pick something you're planning to buy with it and go from there.  It's nice to give people an idea but life always kicks in

  • Super exciting!

That's what we did. We knew there were a few things we were for sure going to buy, so we indicated those on certain cards. For the others, we just put something generic about it helping us out in our new home.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14
