I've started thinking about the big move from Ohio to Texas after the wedding, and I'm starting to get nervous about moving my two 12 year old cats. They completely spazz out in the car, to the degree of throwing up and pooping in their crates and wailing the entire car ride any time they have to go somewhere like the vet. the last time I tried to give them Benadryl to calm them down (per vet instruction), and I ended up with grape flavored cat puke all over me, the cat, and the walls.
I'm at a loss on what to do when the time comes to move. They both spazz out so much that I'm truly afraid that one of them will have a heart attack (they're both hefty cats, which can't be good on their hearts anyway). It's a 21 hour trip, requiring an overnight, and I just can't see them being able to be sedated for that long. I'm even afraid of a shorter trip like an airline flight because not only would it be physically taxing like a car ride, but also emotionally damaging, and one of my cats already has behavioral issues.
Please, any suggestions you might have would greatly help, as I'm starting to get really upset trying to figure out a way to make this work.
They didn't have you where I come from...never knew the best was yet to come...
