Spin off of the braces post...

So I have to ask for some advice from those who have/ have had braces. I have ceramic braces (see pic below if you don't know). I have the hardest time keeping them clean!

I brush 4-6x's a day, avoid dark pop, mouthwash, and overall take really good care of my braces, or so I think. Even with all my effort to keep them clean I feel like they get discolored after 2 weeks of getting my bands changed. It looks weird and gross, my teeth look white, but the bands around the brackets look yellowish. Do any of you have secrets to how you kept them nice and clear?

Okay, I know this is an old post, but I hope this helps others who find it in the search.

My orthodontist said the clear bands are notoriously easy to stain. She recommended switching to the light silver color. They're still sort of invisible, as they blend in with the wires, and they don't stain. I loved them!

The light silver color DOES show stains. Mine is now yellow from eating curry. I'm going to ask my ortho to put a new band on before the wedding. It's bad enough that I'll have bling on my grill...so I'd really prefer not to have a yellowed band!

IDK why we're doing zombie thread here but one thing that helps is drinking your coffee/tea through a straw.
