so i didn't know where to put this but wanted to share.
I asked my FMIL to go with me to pick out my dress along with my own mother,grandmother, sister, and two best friends. when i asked her i think i heard some real emotion in her voice although i couldn't tell because we were on the phone it was excitement and something else it think.
Although my FI and i have been together for five years i havent' gotten to know his mom the way i would like because of the distance between us its not very easy to just pop over or something. So when FI asked me to marry him and i saw me getting my dress i saw her with me. She does not have any daughters and only two sons but one of the sons has special needs and will never get married. So i thought this would be her only chance to go wedding gown shopping. and a great way to get to know her better.
I called her today and asked her and she was just really happy i and greatful that i thought of her to go. I know that i did the right thing and i definitley think this will help us to become closer. She also said that she did not know how involved i wanted her to be and i said i want her involved as much as she wanted to be.
I just have one of those feelings in my hear that i know i did something right and for the right reasons. Just wanted to share.
