Another marriage license Q

How many certified copies of the marriage license will I need?  The Town Hall we'll go to charges $10 for the first one and $5 for each additional one.  How many should I get?

I got 3 and I still have all three copies. You really should probably just get 2.

I only got 1. Only needed 1. I did just pick up our marriage certificate and got two of those because they are cheaper the first time you buy them. Always a bargain shopper. ;)

oh, maybe that's what I meant...  without knowing what I was saying...  the York, Maine website just refers to pre-paying for "certified copies"  So, does anyone else keep one, or just use it and give it back?  I know I'll want a certified copy for myself, because I'm a sap like that.  :)

I am keeping one - not letting it get bent. Then I will use the other one to fold and send away if needed. They say they send them back to you (passport office, etc.) but I do not want to chance losing one. The first one is $12 the second one is only $8. It's $12 to replace if lost.
