This is really just a vent post. I am getting marrieed in less than a year and I am feeling so ovewhelmed. I do not know where to start. I feel like I need to be doing something now or things are not going to be ready in time. I know that they have the checklist here to help you with the timing of doing things, but I still have yet to get everything checked off that should be. The only thing I have done is picked out the bridesmaids and flower girl dresses.
Me and my fiance' are on a tight budget, (we do not want to go over 5,000 and 4,000 would be better) and I just really do not know how things are going to turn out. My sister somehow pulled hers off on a 3,000 budget and it was really nice. Of course the pastors wife is a wedding planner and did not charge her anything. All she had to pay for were the decorations and food. Her venue at a country club only cost 500 dollars, but she lives in close to Memphis and I am in Nashville. All of the venues here that are nice are so expensive, and the whole having to have the hotel cater, and having a minimal food charge is just confusing to me. I have no idea how I am going to pull off a nice wedding without breaking the bank and it is really getting frustrating that I cannot find a venue that is reasonably priced.
Of course I thought of the whole DIY idea as far as the decorations and such in order to save money, but I have seen Bridezillas one too many times to know how that can turn out! I do not want to have to worry about decorations and be stressed about those things the day of the wedding. I know some of you may think I am crazy, but 11 months is not a long time to plan a wedding and get everything together. Time flies.
Do any of you have any advice?
