Honeymoon in Tennessee

I posted this on the Tennessee bored, but no one has responded yet. Me and Ken have decided to go to Tennessee for our honeymoon, but we havn't picked a city yet. I've only ever been there once for a camping trip when i was younger.
What kind of fun things is there to do and see. I like fun active things like 4-wheeling and maybe even exploring old caves or something, and ken loves to fish. Im really just looking for a starting point, from anyone who has been there.

Re: Honeymoon in Tennessee

  • What about Gatlinburg or Dollywood? It has been years since I have been there.

But I imagine if you looked around online or maybe tripadvisor.com you could find reviews of places to stay and what not.
  • Tellico Plains! There are some wonderful cabins there as well as some fancier places to stay without the "tourist" feel. The Lost Sea (cave) is nearby in Sweetwater.
  • Oh yeah, I remember the Lost Cave. Gosh, it has been years since I have been there. And H has never been. Hmm, maybe for our first anniversary next year, that would be a good place to go.
  • You can also post this on the HM board to get some more ideas.  I would check out trip advisor once you have picked your destination.  They have great reviews on lodging, activities and restaurants.

It might be fun to spend a night in Nashville.  I'm not sure if you like country music, but I have heard the Grand Ole Opry is a great place to watch live music.

  • Sweetwater has as underground lake that you can take a boat ride on.. I love Nashville and Gatlinburg. Pigeon Forge is fun too!! Nashville has plantations, the Grand Ol Opry and lots of other music stuff!! Gatlinburg has white water rafting, fishing, nature tours, horse back riding, winerys. Pigeon Forge has shopping and go-karts, putt-putt!!!
  • My mom lives by Nashville, and boy is that a fun place to visit!  Have you thought about maybe traveling to a few different towns?
