Hi all! I'm hoping that someone will have some experince with this.
My e-ring is my grandmothers and two of the prongs are worn (she wore it with a ring wrap) and now the bottom of the band looks like it has tiny cracks in it. I wanted to leave it alone and wear it just as it is however now it looks like I dont have that option because Im afraid of losing the stone. Has anyone had a diamond reset and who would you reccomend out of national chains. Ideally I would like to have the same band, but cannot find one anywhere. I guess thats what happens when you have a 60+ year old ring. Also, has anyone had experience adding other diamonds. Right now mine is just a solitare but I was thinking about incorporating other diamonds into it. I suppose if Im going to change my setting and cant come near the original Im going to change it compleatly.
Here's my ring now (bad pic, only phone pics will upload, eck)
And here is the setting that I really like.
http://www.zales.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3742081&kpc=1I'm about 5 diamonds short from being able to provide them all myself. I think I like this because it allows me to add other family jewlery into it and get use out of items I no longer wear. I also plan to eventually pass it down to my future child or grandchild (if they want it) so this way everything is included.
So what do you guys think, leave it and get a plain band or change it.
