RSVP 10% decline rule - ha!

So much for the 10% rule of people declining. Our RSVP date came and went over the weekend and only 4 people have declined. 4 people! Don't get me wrong I'm glad so many friends and family will attend our wedding, on the other hand FI & I were *hoping* for some more declines to help ease the pinch on our checkbook.

OMG I feel the same way. We've only had 4 and most of them have been people not bringing guests. Our RSVP date is Saturday. Cross your fingers for more declines lol...

I actually think that Save-the-Dates are to blame for this.  Basically by sending those, you asked people not to make other plans and they listened!  Also, if you send out invitations more than 8 weeks out, it's highly likely that they won't have plans yet. Embrace the guests :)

We had about 5%!  And like PP its been mainly because friends and family are flying solo instead of bringing a guest!   All the more fun  (...all th more expensive fun...) but if you didn't want 'em there you wouldn't have put it out for them to accept :)

We got a lot more than 10% decline rate, mostly because we invited everyone with a guest and most of our friends aren't bringing guests.. there's a good 20 no's right there.  It sounds bad, but I am very happy with the number we ended up with.. everyone went a little crazy with their guest lists (including FI) but the people we really are the closest with will be there to share our day with us. Here's to some last minute no's for your girls.. keeping my fingers crossed :)

I felt bad for having such a sense of relief when I got my first decline yesterday!!  It's not only a thing with $ for us, we also don't have the space!  Our reception is at the Rochester Country Club - with seats for 130 ppl plus head table.  Including the bridal party, we had 157 invited guests!  So, I'm saying, bring on the declines!  haha.

Do't feel bad. I had all 80 people come. No declines. And they brought dates... But I made it work. Congrads on only 30 days out.
