So I have been working with RB inn for the last 2.5 months and as I was about to sign the contract they pull the plug.  Just like that with no warning.  I've tried talking to them but they released the date to someone else who will bring them more revenue.  I can't believe they would do something like this.  I spent the entire day crying over this, but know that I have to get moving on it today.  I'm 6 months away from my wedding and I need help finding a venue that will fit 400 guests and allow outside catering.  Any suggestions?  It needs to be in San Diego as well.

try posting on the local board on the left.  If you waited over 2 months to sign a contract  though I can't say that's surprising that they 'pulled the plug'.  Granted they could've asked  you to sign immeditaly before  the other party did but still I can see where theyre coming from.

That really sucks.  I suggest you go to your local board.  Good luck with finding a new venue.

I wouldn''t have waited but I didn't get a contract until 1.5 weeks ago and had to ask for it.  When I got it the terms of the contract were different then what we verbally neogotiated.  I finally got a decent contract to sign this past Friday.  This whole time she said to not worry about it.

that was wrong of them to tell you not to worry and then pull a move like that..but i definitely wouldn't have risked 2.5 months of planning without having anything signed. maybe give a heads up on your local board to the other brides so this doesn't happen to them either! good luck with your new search

That sucks.  I agree with posting on your local board for more suggestions and also to warn them about dealing with that venue.  You could even write a review on weddingwire.com about your experience with them.
