Complaining about florists. Thrilling for all.

Y'all. I am dying to know why these vendors don't want my money.

So I met with a florist recommended by a photographer friend of mine who has worked with her professionally several times. Great conversation, so excited, blah blah blah, we met on the 16th and she said it would take about a week to get me a proposal. About 10 days go by before I'm like, um... So I email her, very laid back, Hi, how are you, where is my proposal? (Clealry not verbatim). She writes back, yeah I'll have it to you by the weekend. Well girls it's Wednesday; I have no proposal.

I call someone else last night, who has ALSO been recommended by a family friend, and this woman tells me that she's scaling back her business, which is fine. But then proceeds to ask me about the wedding and ask to meet up and I'm like, well is this something you can take on? She says, if I decide to do it, I'll do it. Oh. Thanks?

I am trying to give you people money! Please act accordingly!

Ugh, that's all. Very few people are as concerned about it as me (weird, right? ) so I have taken to the boards! Thanks for reading.

Hey i'm waiting on my ceremony site to call me to set up a time to meet to PAY OFF THE BALANCE lol....not my fault if they have to rush a rental order because I emailed 3 days before the due date. Due date is today and no contact :-/

Yeah that sucks! I don't get it. Clearly they want your reception to be free

Yeah, I know what you mean....one of the caterers I looked at took TWO MONTHS to get back to me about a bid (the others I met with at the same time took anywhere from 12 hours to 2 days).  And they didn't even have a bid then!  They called and were like, "Um, yeah, do you still need that bid?"   My answer was, "No, I don't."    

My advice would be to keep looking for other vendors....

Agreed. I dismissed so many vendors based on their lack of reasonable response times.

Thanks ladies. You're right. It's just so irritating! And so bizarre to me. Your whole business is based around being timely and professional.

Anyway thanks for the replies! I feel better b!tching about it.

Thats crazy about the florist I mean I can understand the one saying they aren't sure they can take it on.  Maybe they have some weddings or events that day and they are trying to figure out if they can take yours on and do it properly.  They may be trying to guage how large it is.  She def should have explained that though and not said If I decide to take it I'll let oyu know!!!

Also, I would let the person who recommended these places know that they have been not easy to work with so she knows and she doesn't tell other brides to be about them cause it def makes it look bad on the vendor that referred the florist to you.

If this is their attitude about getting their own money, imagine their attitude about doing something that's not even for themselves.  I definitely suggest to keep looking.  Being that unprofessional early on really doesn't inspire trust with me.

Similar thing happened with the cake baker. We never heard back after several emails about what we wanted. So i went some where else
