Hubby to be gift

It's typical to get each other a wedding gift, correct? If so, what are some good ideas for a wedding gift for my husband to be? For some reason, the only thing I can think of are cufflinks, but am unsure how much use he'd get out of them. Perhaps on the wedding day, but I don't know if a morning suit requires cufflinks! My next thought was a telescope (he's an astrophysicist), but that's a little out of my price range!

    I bought my FI a watch. I had thought of cufflinks too, but had the same wondering about when he'd actually wear them again. He picked out the watch, but he doesn't get it until the wedding day. I'm planning on having something engraved on the back before the wedding.

    We decided to get something special from our HM instead.  We ended up buying a beautiful hand craved African drum from our Safari.   


    My mom still has her pearls my dad gave her.   Mom gave him a nice watch, but dad has gotten a new one since then.  (they have been married 44 years).







    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    I got my husband a framed picture of our last name from alphabetphotography.com to hang in our house.

    Good question!  I was going to go with the boudoir pics, but my photog (whom I LOVE and does amazing boudoir pics) charges a ridiculous amount of money for them ($700!)  So I started thinking that it may not be the route to go if FI only looks at them a few times.  I had the thought of a watch as well, but FI already has 3 (one of which is his good watch that he only wears for special occasions).  Keep the ideas coming!
