So we survived... What's the plan for today.

Happy December 22nd everyone.  So since the Mayans were wrong what is everyone up to today?

I have to wrap some last minute presents then we have a Christmas party later on tonight.

  • Thankful to be here still. Shop, wrap, clean, cook, clean, repeat. We have four house guests arriving for a week tomorrow. Then Friday my daughter's five bridesmaids and one SO are coming for the weekend to shop. I have put everything but this on the back burner.
  • I was supposed to fly to Arkansas to visit my dad via Chicago today. Flight leaving here was delayed so much b/c of Chicago weather (it is coming FROM Chicago as well) that it now will not get in until AFTER my connection leaves, and there are no more flights from Chicago to Arkansas until tomorrow. So I get to get up and try again all over tomorrow. And I have ruined Christmas dinner b/c we were planning to do it tomorrow. Well, *I* haven't ruined it, but still. Bah.

  • I'm going to read, draw, and see if I can have lunch with my FI. Today looks beautiful by the way.
An animator and a writer are planning a wedding, it will be an epic graphic novel.
  • Addie, I hope things work out with your flight tomorrow. Is there any chance you'll arrive early enough for dinner?

I'm spending the day lounging, as I do most Saturday's, and tonight we have a birthday party in the city.

  • Jadzia, my dad says they are changing everything to accommodate me, but I don't know if he was kidding or serious. I told him just to make sure there was liquor. Haha!

Addie - it's been clear and sunny in Chicago.  Thursday there were many flights canceled due to snowstorm that was supposed to come through and never did.  Maybe they're still catching up?

Marrin, that's what I'm now hearing. I have an aunt in Joliet, and she mentioned that. I have no idea what is really going on; just hope I can get there tomorrow! Unfortunately, to do it, I have to be on a SUPER early flight. I should have just gone ahead and taken the flight to Chicago and stayed with my aunt tonight, but I had to make a decision kind of quickly and it really didn't occur to me until I was midway through the change and figured it would just complicate things further if I tried to coordinate that. Ugh!

Stage, it's a little town called Dardanelle. My dad and his wife got married at Mt. Nebo in October, and she has a house there in Dardenelle. When he first retired several years ago, he and my former stepmother were in Fairfield Bay and then when they split, he moved to Missouri, and they were going to stay there, but now I guess they are going to live in AR. And my brother lives in Little Rock. So even though I'm from Illlinios originally and spent the last 13 years in Texas, I have been getting very familiar with Razorback country the past 10 years!
