Feeling behind

Lately I have been feeling like I don't have nearly enough done. I read all of the posts on here and some of you, who have weddings after mine have more done than I do. It's making me a little nervous. I'm hoping that perhaps some people are just more organized and better planners than I am, that maybe they just plan ahead of time because it's in their personality? This is what I have done: venue, photographer, officiant and dj are booked and deposits paid. My venue is doing the favors for me, and we've decided on food already. Found wedding gown, just waiting to go try it on for my mom before I buy it. Picked bridesmaids and found some dresses for them to try. I've researched a bunch of bakers/florists that you ladies have suggested, I just haven't met them yet. And we have nearly finalized the guest list.Does that sound like enough? Should I be doing something else right now? I do look at the checklist on the Knot, but I prefer to ask ladies with real life experience. Thanks!!

That shounds pretty good to me!  My wedding is in July too and I'm at about the same spot.  I consider myself rather organized and I do like to get stuff done ahead of time, but I also go back to school on Sunday, which means I have to tie up a lot of loose ends before the end of this week.  I wouldn't worry, it sounds like you're in great shape!

You are doing fine. You have plenty of time. Trust me I used to sometimes feel like I was a total slacker bride. I would read posts of girls who were 2 years out and they already had their gowns and most of their DIY projects underway. Meanwhile I was 6 months out and hadn't even started my DIY projects or even thought of half of the things they had. Everyone works at their own pace. Just make a to-do list and set deadlines for yourself. I'm now almost a week and a half away from my wedding and 99% of things are done. And whatever doesn't get done must not be that important.Good luck!

I think your doing great, I agree with pp that everyone moves at different speeds. If your looking for something to do maybe think about any DIY projects that you want to do and get a head start on some. I know my invites took me a little longer then I thought they would so I was happy I started them early.

I think you're in great shape!I got engaged in Feburary and I am getting married in September, so thats just about 7 months to do everything. And I've had PLENTY of time.I think in the begining it seems like theres tons to do and then there was definately a lull for a while, then the craziness starts LOL At least thats how its been for me. :)Good luck!

I think you are doing wonderfully!  You are a couple of steps ahead of me, and I don't feel behind..... yet :)Great Job on getting stuff out of the way.  The only thing I would recommend is what the PP said, if you have any DIY projects maybe you could start them.

I'm a July 10 bride too and I'm pretty much in the same spot. I actually feel frustrated because there is a bunch of stuff I just can't do yet like flowers and cake and stuff. Those places have told me to come back after christmas. For now I'm just working on my DIY projects to keep me busy.

I felt the same way last week. You've got one more thing booked than me - the DJ! Do small steps, one thing at a time. I just put in an inquiry last night to a bakery and they called me back today and told me to come in for a tasting in October or November. Guess I wasn't as behind as I thought. You're in a great spot :)

I think you are on the right track!! I would def do florist and cake next. I have a few more things than you and I am October 2010, but I am an early planner :) I am the type of person who needs to get it down now, why wait later...but I also do not change my mind easily so I am not worried about "not like it" is X months.

Thanks girls, I feel much better now. I think I will start my DIY projects soon. That will also give me a good excuse to go spend some money at the craft store!!
