Just heard...

Just heard our DJ was in a car accident and isn't doing to good.  He is having rods (I think that's what she called them) in both of his legs.  My friend recommended him.  I hope he gets better.

Although health is important now I'm thinking what if he can't be our DJ and we don't have a contract because he was actually putting it together to email it to me.

  • He has a partner but I have never met him or spoken to him.  He works with her during the day and does DJ on the side, weddings, sweet sixteen, clubs at times, even the company Christmas party and BBQ.  Which her company spends over $100K a year.

I'm trying to get more information from my friend.  Now I just want to get in contact with the partner.

  • Thank you Stage.  I wasn't going to reach out to him for a while.  My friend just told me he needs surgeries and after he needs 12 weeks of rehab.  I was going to wait until he was done with his surgeries and at least starts the rehabilitation sessions.  Obviously I can't do anything else right now, but you know when you have something in the back of your mind like "oh man on to start the search again."

Oh my gosh. . . . how awful and scary for him.  Having rods put in your legs is a big deal.  I hope he recovers fully, and isn't in too much pain.

For what it's worth, the co-owner of the venue where I got married in September killed himself about 3-4 months before my wedding.  How awful for his family and friends.  I could have cared less at that time what effect his death had on my wedding.  It's one day.

Things work out. . . . 5 months is plenty of time for things to get straightened out.
  • yikes; agree with PPs to see what they as a company do.  You definietly have time and all I would at this time is send your prayers and let them know you still would like to explore a contract when the time is right.  Sounds like they are a reputable company so I am sure they will prepare some sort of "damage control" if all or any of their contracts (or potential contracts) cannot be fullfilled.  Congrats on going bridezilla on the situation and actually caring about his well-being :)
