Pocket Fold Invitations

I'm looking at cardsandpockets.com to purchase samples to create a mock-up invitation.  I am very new to DIY and wanted to ask any of you who have made this type of invitation for advice.  What type of software did you use to print all of the different-sized inserts?  What type of adhesive did you use to mount the mat and invitation?

I used Microsoft Word to design my invites. I also used my Xyron machine to mount them, it basically makes the cardstock into a sticker. PIB of my previous mockup, but I have to update it to my final design. It will at least give you an idea.

I am using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign to create my mock-ups, my digital mock-up will be done soon and I will post that. I have these programs from school, you can download a trial but its only for 30 or 60 days. There are other good programs to use. I'll also be using my xyron 500 to mount the mat & the invitation. Which is worth it w/ coupon from Michael's or AC Moore.

dls.1215 - Your invitation mock-up is beautiful!  I am most comfortable with Microsoft Word so it's good to know that I can use it for something like this. Both of you, thank you for recommending the Xyron, I had never heard of it and it looks like it would make things a lot easier!

Thanks! If you want to send me an email danielle42410 at gmail dot com I can send you my finalized design in a Word document so you can see how I did the design. I changed a few things like the scrolling is now blue because I the silver embossing smudged more than I liked, and the script was hard to read in that size.

I also used cardsandpockets.com. You only need to order the pockets from them! There's no need in purchased custom cut inserts. Just buy regular 8.5x11 cardstock - print on those and cut them yourself (using a precision cutting tool, not scissors obviously - you can find at any craft store). I used Microsoft Digital Image Suite Plus to create the text/graphics. If you buy custom cut paper from them, you can NOT return it. If you order any paper from them, make sure you use the drop down box and select the correct color (I forgot to do this on one set of the paper and received chili red paper I could not return) They can mount the invitation mat to the pocket for you which is what I had done and it looked fine. BTW, you can't reach them by phone and their customer service button on their website is always offline.

I've finished my digital mock-ups, PIB. I've printed the invite inserts, they look much better printed. I'll post pics when I get my camera back from the FI.

I am using Microsoft Publisher, but it's what I use for all my design work (convention work and my FSIL's invitations) so I'm really comfortable with it.  I'm planning on using spray adhesive which worked out fine with the FSIL's invitations.  I used 8.5 by 11 paper and just cut the pieces down.  Her paper I ordered in bulk through a local scrapbooking store, ordered her envelopes in bulk from envelopesexpress.com, my pocketfolds, envelopes and mats are from envelopme.com and my specialty papers from paperandmore.com and paperstudio.com,  writing that down it sounds like a lot, but I'm crazy about paper.  Anyways, I don't have pictures yet, but if you need any help I'm more than willing.
