Kinda freakin out...

Majorly stressing.  Seems like the store we were going to use to purchase our flowers (in bulk so we could diy) has totally flaked and will not give us a response back.... My mom is now getting quotes from floral shops we know (can we say cha-ching and bye-bye budget?!?)
Wedding is also in a different state than which I live, so feeling kind of helpless since the next time I can go is next weekend (13th) and my wedding is the 20th! eeek.  (Is it bad that I think my mom kind of dropped the ball on this one? Flowers were the only thing I've asked her help with and she said she had it under control...)  :-/
Advice on how to de-stress and how to get all this stuff done would be appreciated!!  Thanks!

Re: Kinda freakin out...

  • I would say go with silk.  They won't look wilted by the end of the day, and that way you can keep your bouquet in a shadowbox after.

Do you have a Flower Factory near?  They are really reasonable.
December 18, 2010!!! Never thought I would be a winter bride; just hoping we don't get snowed in until AFTER the wedding!
  • Definitely skip the stress and go with silk flowers.

    Ditto.  And do a little deep breathing - it helps, too.  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />

  • silk.

    and a massage!
  • In that case I would go with silk too. They are really easy to work with if you're looking to DIY. I don't think you'll be able to get a florist to do your bouquets on that short of notice. And to de-stress I would suggest a back rub from the future hubby :)
  • I like real flowers and had planned the same thing. Someone on my local board said they used www.fiftyflowers.com this is who I plan to use.

There flowers seem farely nice prices.

  • I *despise* fake flowers. That being said, my suggestion would be either fiftyflowers.com or something similar or a local supermarket and just get them the day of your wedding...all you'll need is ribbon quickly wrapped around the bottom of your boquets and call it a day. Your mom may have dropped the ball as they say. But how was he to know the florist would flake?

  • I used Afloral.com mostly because it has a lot of bouquets as well as DIY options.  I bought a bit of both to make my flowers my own.  Also, they are SUPER cheap.
  • I chose to go with proflowers.com. Ordered bulk flowers and plan on making bouquets and bouts myself. Got floral tape from dollar tree and ribbon too!! their flowers are nice and guarenteed fresh. Very reasonably priced ana also available for rush delivery if needed!!

Take a deep breath and relax!! It will be ok!
