Writing My Ceremony Outline

Okay -- I have yet ANOTHER question for all of you WONDERFUL planners out there.  I have been feeling overwhelmed with writing the outline for my ceremony.  There are SO many great options!   Where do I begin?  And how do I finish it?  How will I know it is right?

Thank You Lovelies!!!!

Re: Writing My Ceremony Outline

  • I have no idea. I'm Episcopalian, so I always just assumed we'd do the marriage ceremony in the BCP (Book of Common Prayer), because I love the traditional vows... but now I'm marrying a guy in India and he's a nondenominational Christian who thinks Tradition is Bo-ring and we'll be writing our own vows. What? I didn't sign up for that... haha...

And if we do get to have two ceremonies (we're hoping, not sure if we can swing it but if we can't my family won't get to be at my wedding :( ) then while I'm sure I'll modify some sort of BCP ceremony it'd be a wedding before my actual legal wedding, that is, it won't be the official ceremony, so it will probably more be a ceremony for blessing a future union... which isn't covered by the BCP... lol...

So I'm having to think about this myself and the best I can say is definitely talk to your FI about wha tis important, and then of course also to your officient.

"I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels." -Isaiah 61:10 NKJV
  • I would start but asking your officiant.  May times there are things that legally need to be included for the marriage to be valid.
